Biller: Medical/ Dental Billing Representative Oral Surgery
OMS Medical/Dental Billing/Coding Representative- Full Time
Oral & Facial Surgeons of Michigan, a private Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery includes 3 locations with 4 providers.
Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Director, the office-based Billing/Coding Representative is responsible for the following:
Performs and oversees data entry of charges and payments, medical and dental claims submission, patient accounting and collections, insurance appeals and payments. Reviews billing and coding reports and takes action when indicated. Responds to accounting or billing inquiries from physicians, patients, employees and other sources. Applications utilized are: Carestream WinOMS, Emdeon Clearing House, Word and Excel.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
o One to two years CPT/ICD-9 related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o One to two years Medicare, Medicaid and third party payer claims submission and appeals processes related experience/ education.
o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and the general public.
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
o Certification in Professional Coding (CPC) is preferred.
